The Fire School of Evangelism was birthed out of an encounter I had with the Holy Spirit during a training and equipping meeting that had come to our city. During an intense session the Holy Spirit manifested in a mighty way, and I was overwhelmed! It was then that I heard the Voice of The Lord say these words:

“ Mike, you’re a really good professional Christian!”

I was bewildered and asked The Lord:

“What do You mean?”

What He said shook me to the core of my being!

“Oh yes you will preach My word in a pulpit, at a church, and overseas. You will move in My power in those settings, but when you are in the grocery store you could care less about the people dying around you!”

I was cut to the heart! I realized it was true, I had become a really good “professional” Christian. I was weeping and on my knees in the middle of thousands of people and I said:

“No more Lord! When you highlight someone to me I am going after them, gloves off, no one is safe anymore!”

That was the encounter that changed my heart and the direction of my calling and ministry. And that was the seed which is now manifesting as the Fire School of Evangelism! I realized I was not fully fulfilling my identity as a son of The Father. Yes I was standing in the office of the Evangelist. Yes I was fulfilling my role as one of the Five Fold ministry that is given as a gift to the Body of Christ! But I was not fully walking in my identity as a son, and I was neglecting a vital part of my calling!

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ,

I realized that I was missing a major part of my calling, training and equipping believers to DO their own works of ministry! So that’s why I started the Fire School of Evangelism, to train and equip the saints to do the work of ministry, and to grow and enlarge the Church!
